Early Childhood Education – Allira Early Learning Centre

WHERE ALL CHILDREN ARE WELCOME
Generations of children have passed through the doors of Allira Early Learning Centre

It was over 30 years ago that Allira had its beginnings with a group of Aboriginal mothers looking for playgroups and social activities, and childcare opportunities for their children. Now Allira Early Learning Centre provides nurturing play-based learning, school readiness, self-care skills and social programs and activities wrapped in a framework of culture, music, art and language.

If you are thinking of enrolling your child/ren at Allira you can make a time to have a look around the Centre and meet the staff.

Then you will need to complete an online ‘wait list’ form.

When a place becomes available staff will contact you about bringing your child/ren in to the centre and the provision of a formal induction.

Envision a place filled with adventure – places to climb, dirt and sand to dig, gardens to explore and bugs to find – Welcome to Allira, where children learn through play.

We provide a learning program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework that is child focused, fun and educational, preparing children for formal schooling. We engage with children and offer opportunities to explore programs including: Jolly Phonics, Munch and Move, PALS- Play and Learning Skills, Wiradjuri language and culture.

In readiness for school Allira provides access to the Ear Bus & Eye Bus, and the Aboriginal Children’s Therapy Team that include OT’s and Speech Therapists.

What is the purpose of Allira Early Learning Centre

We are an Aboriginal service for children six weeks to six years old, but it’s open to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in and around Dubbo. We nurture children ready for school, and give them early learning skills to develop their social, physical, cognitive and artistic skills.
